My First Hot Foiling with AIR MILES Reward Program Event

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to try something completely new — hot foiling on luggage tags — with AIR MILES Reward Program event held at the beautiful Sheraton Centre Toronto. It was my first time working with hot foil, and let me tell you, it was a whirlwind of nerves, excitement, and pure creative joy.

When I first got the call to be part of this event, I was both thrilled and a little anxious. Hot foiling is a delicate process that requires precision, timing, and confidence — and doing it live, in front of guests, added a whole new layer of pressure. But I knew it was a challenge worth taking.

As the event kicked off, my nervous energy quickly turned into focus. One by one, guests came by to have their custom luggage tags personalized with shimmering metallic foil. Seeing their faces light up as their initials or names appeared in gold, silver, or rose gold was incredibly rewarding. Some people had never seen hot foiling in action before, and their curiosity turned into admiration — which led to lots of great conversations.

I met so many amazing people that day — from travelers and brand reps to fellow creatives. Everyone was so kind, supportive, and genuinely interested in the process. The compliments I received reminded me of why I love doing what I do. It’s not just about the final product — it’s about the connection, the moment of surprise, and the personal touch that makes something special.

This experience taught me that stepping outside of your comfort zone is where growth (and magic) happens. I’m so grateful to AIR MILES and Sheraton Centre for the opportunity, and to everyone who stopped by my station to say hello, ask questions, or just watch the magic happen.

Here’s to more firsts, more creativity, and more unforgettable moments.

Thank you POMP PR and Air Miles for having me!
